A Tricentennial Commemorative Art Piece of 300 years of New Orleans History

New Orleans International Muralist (NOIM) is a cultural and economic driven organization that has established the longest mural in the country on the Tchoupitoulas floodwall with your support. This mural is an opportunity for organizations and companies to hold their place in New Orleans history by sponsoring a panel or a block of the mural that tells the story of the diverse and rich history of New Orleans. The mural has started to be painted at the 1900 Block of Tchoupitoulas by the Wal-Mart near the Police Station and ends at NOLA Brewing. We need your help in-order to complete this piece of history in New Orleans. We are seeking more corporate sponsorships and support from the community.

Under the artistic direction of renowned New Orleans artist Jamar D. Pierre, NOIM is in the process of painting a roughly one-mile long stretch of the Tchoupitoulas floodwall. Organized as an historical timeline of New Orleans beginning in the 1700s, upon completion, the mural will document over 300 years of New Orleans history up until present day.  The Floodwall Mural project is an ongoing endeavor of NOIM. Financial support is derived from grants, fundraising events, and most importantly corporate and individual contributions. Get involved with this neighborhood beautification project and celebrate New Orleans history as a sponsor, donor, or volunteer. Contributions over $1,000 are tax deductible.

Bringing People Together as One Community

Phase one – painted over 5000 sq feet from 2018 to 2021

Young artist can help share their time to paint portions of the wall as a paid apprenticeship since the beginning of the project.

Phase two will allow us to further engage more young artists in a pilot mural bootcamp for students in small groups.

Phase two started in 2021, we started painting new designs to the wall representing 1800’s timeline of NOLA, capturing images of Congo Square, Battle of New Orleans, Buddy Bolden, and Papa Jack Lane and many more… Moments of our resilient history. We have several designs in the making for phase 2!
Marie Laveau, Rose Nicaud, Micaela Almonsester, Baroness de Pontalba, Dr. John, Louis Armstrong, Pete Fountain, Jelly Roll Morton, James Booker, Ali vs Spinks (fight in the Super Dome), Mahaliah Jackson.. all the 1900’s spread through out sections of the entire mural.

Our team spends a lot of time preparing and planning the research and design for each small section at a time all while painting and raising money for small and big sections at the same time. Quality and long term sustainability are our goals. Safety and permits come first as we try to collaborate with every cultural institution in the Greater New Orleans Community.

There are several more phases to go and we NEED your SUPPORT to get to the finish line!
